January 2, 2020 Sarah McCartney
IMG_1740.jpeg

In June 2019, Sarah attended the Association for Contextual Behavioural Science (ACBS) World Conference which was held in Dublin. This was her second time at an ACBS World Conference having also attended the one held in 2015 in Berlin.

ACBS is an international community of scholars, researchers, educators, practitioners, and others whose mission is to:

  • support a dynamic interaction between basic and applied research;

  • disseminate contextual behavioral science;

  • continue to develop principles, theories, and practical applications grounded in empirical knowledge and guided by the best available scientific evidence;

  • support all members who wish to participate in this work.

The schedule for the conference included training workshops, lectures and keynote speeches as well as many break-out activities where attendees could network and exchange methods and ideas.

The photo shows Sarah with Professor Kelly Wilson, PhD. Kelly is professor of psychology at the University of Mississippi. He is a central figure in acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and coauthor of the landmark Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Wilson is among the most sought-after ACT trainers. His popular experiential workshops touch thousands of clinicians and students each year.
